Soil Stabilisation | Birchwood Park, Warrington
Soil Stabilisation at Birchwood Park, Warrington
A new 3 storey building and car park was being constructed as part of an ongoing development at Birchwood Park in Warrington and it was decided that Soil Stabilisation would be carried out on the existing site material as Sub-Base Replacement. TRS were contacted and awarded the contract to carry our the Soil Stabilisation works by Globe MSL.
After carrying out material sampling as design mix was compiled to establish the correct powder additions to achieve the 30% CBR required. As the site was dust sensitive works on site were carried out using a Wirtgen Integrated machine which eliminates the need for a separate powder spreader. Once the material had been treated (with water being added during the Mixing process) the area was compacted, trimmed to tolerance and a K1-40 bitumen emulsion was applied to seal the surface.
Compliance testing was carried out throughout the woks by a UKAS accredited independent laboratory to determine that the required 30% CBR had been achieved.
The works were completed on time and to budget and handed over within 1 week.
