Whats is Soil Stabilisation – Geochemistry

What is Soil Stabilisation? ┬áToday I found a great study here which answers that question by running through the Geochemistry involved in the Soil Stabilisation process. ┬áThe study looks at the “chemical reactions that bring about soil stabilization and modification┬áduring soil chemical stabilization” and runs through the following topics:

  • Introduction – how the study was carried out and the types of tests / materials examined
  • Chemical Properties of Soil – the different chemicals typically found within the soils used within the study
  • Chemical Reactions in Soil – the reactions that take place within soils
  • Soil Stabilisation Chemistry – a look at the reactions that take place within soils when a binder is introduced, including Lime and Cement, and how this effects the soil
  • Conclusions – which of the binders performed the best and which were the most cost effective

Have a look and let us know what you think.
