Soil Stabilization Techniques

Found a good publication here today which has been posted on Concrete Construction web-site about Soil Stabilization techniques.  The publication looks at how Soil Stabilization using cement works along with the different factors that govern the end strengths achieved, including:

  • The physical and chemical properties of the soil before treatment
  • The amount of cement added
  • Moisture conditions and temperatures during treatment
  • Degree of compaction
The document then goes on to look at the testing that needs to take place before Soil Stabilization is carried out, the methodology of carrying out the technique (machines used, sequence of works, processes and curing times) and final on site testing to determine end results achieved.  There is then a section based on Soil Stabilization using lime which describes the difference between the reactions of the 2 additives and the results that can be expected from them.
Have a look and let us know what you think.
