Soil Stabilisation – performance of binders (lime, cement, fly ash ect).

When looking into Soil Stabilisation one of the most important factors to consider is the type of binder to be added to the soil.  Whilst looking online I found a great study here from the Department of Transport in Kansas which is all about this different types of binders which are typically used within the Soil Stabilisation  process.  The study looks 8 different soil types and at the performance of the different binders, including strength tests, changes in pH, freeze-thaw, wet-dry, leaching and stiffness.  The overall conclusion was that soils treated with lime and cement showed the greatest improvement and performance.  Have a look at the whole study, including all of the test results achieved, and let us know what you think.
